It costs big money using homophobic slurs

This past weekend during the Chicago Bulls-Miami Heat game 3, Joakim Noah let his emotions get to him.
Being frustrated with picking up his second foul, Noah was sent to the bench. A fan said some disrespectful things to him & he responded with a gay slur. I'm pretty sure the word was faggot.

Since the response from Noah was televised, he will most likely be fined. Noah was quickly to apologize after the game , once he realized what he had said. Noah stated he has absolutely nothing against the gay community & he is an open minded person.

Yeah, it seems like he definitely let his emotions the best of him that game & the angry fan got what he wanted. All of the players are miked & there are microphones everywhere in the arena, so it's impossible to get away with anything.

I was surprised by some people's reactions, wondering what's the big deal? Well, there are many kids that look uo to players in the NBA, so that's a big deal! NBA has to start sending a message somehow. Why not start with the players?
